Technical Pistol Skills is a class intended for the shooter who wants to improve their accuracy, speed, and weapons handling skills. This class forgoes defensive and tactical shooting applications, and instead focuses strictly on making the student a more accurate and faster shooter. Individual attention is given to each student, to ensure that they get the most from the training. To keep instructor to student interaction at the needed level, the class will be limited to 8 students.

Technical Pistol is conducted entirely on the range, and will cover the following topics:

 

  • Safety Review

  • Initial Skills Assessment

  • Optimizing the grip

  • Trigger control

  • Accuracy Exercises

  • Reloading the Pistol

  • Speed Exercises

  • Skills Reassessment

 

Course Length: 6-8 hours, with a lunch break

Prerequisites: Completion of any basic (or higher) level firearms training from a reputable trainer.

 

Equipment required: Quality semi-automatic handgun or revolver with at least two spare magazines or speed loaders (the more, the better), 500 rounds of quality ammunition, quality holster that is designed for the weapon that you are using, eye and ear protection (electronic ear pro preferred), brimmed hat and knee pads(recommended). Method of hydration, and lunch.

 

Course fee: $150.00 + Range fees. This class is taught only at our facility in Yale, VA.
